Welcome to my website -

As an artist, I have been fortunate to make my home, since 1972, in one of the most creative cultural areas of the world: the San Francisco Bay Area of California. The art, music, climate and diverse social environment have offered endless inspiration for my own work.

As a teacher for over twenty-five years of watercolor, pastel, drawing, portraiture, color theory and other subjects, I have taken great pleasure in helping hundreds of students develop skills which give them lifelong enjoyment and satisfaction. I am very grateful to my students for all they have taught me!

As a gardener, the Mediterranean climate allows me to garden year-round and accumulate my collections of weird and beautiful flowers and wonderful heirloom fruits and berries. My more recent interest in California native plants is transforming the creek banks that cross the back border of my one-acre lot.

I am also the instructor for Brush with Nature, specializing in small-group “fresh air” art tours.

It is a pleasure to share with you my artwork and my garden. And I hope to see you in class sometime!
